Jill and Darrell Barnes
Owners of Gather Mckinney
Gather, under the ownership of Jill and Darrell Barnes, has become one of Collin County’s most sought-after event venues. Jill’s lifelong passion for theater, highlighted by her BA in Theatre from SDSU and advanced studies at Oxford, combined with her experience as an award-winning photographer, brings an artistic touch to every event. Her photography studio, Jilly Bean Photography, has been voted the McKinney’s Best Photographer award multiple times and specializes in maternity and newborn portraits. Jill is also a trained wedding planner, ensuring that every aspect of your special day is meticulously crafted. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Dallas Family Music Theater and is part of the 2025 McKinney Leadership Class.
Darrell’s journey began in the Navy, where he managed social functions on his ship, transitioning to nightclub management and earning a degree in business. He’s also involved with the McKinney Food Pantry and is on the board of the McKinney Chamber of Commerce and Leia’s Kids and an alumni of the 2024 McKinney Leadership Class.
Together, Jill’s creative flair and Darrell’s organizational expertise make them the ultimate Dream Team in event planning. They don’t just oversee your event—they become an integral part of it, ensuring that every detail is perfect. Because we only host one wedding per day, our fee structure remains the same. The fee is determined on how many hours your event will take place.
Gather can hold 150 people for a plated meal or 200 for an up and mingling event.
Fortunately, our venue is indoors, so we don’t have to worry about the weather. As you know, Texas weather is crazy, changing from one moment to the next, so holding your event indoors takes the relieves the stress of What If? No contingency plan required. Also, you and your guest will have a better time being out of the elements.
If you are holding your ceremony here at Gather, then you have access to the bridal suite. If your ceremony is off site, you can add the use of the bridal suite to your contract, if you wish. We do not have a groom's suite. (Traditionally, the groom and groomsmen arrive ready for photos.)
